Kitchen Design Trends with JennAir and Famous Tate

Recently, I participated in a discussion with valued trade partners, JennAir and Famous Tate, to catch up on kitchen design trends and important considerations when planning your new kitchen project. From an IDC/Interior Design Consulting perspective, we’ve seen a real shift in our new and prospective client’s design desires. It appears recent circumstances are prompting clients to look at a reinvestment in their homes and taking on larger remodels. This comes after a surge in the refresh arena from late 2019/early 2020.

As such, the timing of this “sit down” couldn’t have been better. Even as showrooms and stores are opening back up, this conversation can be a great resource for any homeowner interested in working with IDC/Interior Design Consulting to improve their kitchen.

Our discussion allowed IDC/Interior Design Consulting to explain nuances between the custom remodels vs. refresh vs. redesign. In other words, what does customization really mean to our clients? The answer isn’t always straightforward, nor is it the same for everyone. Further discussion led to trends. Most of my clients know that while I keep abreast of current trends, these are not the reason or rationale behind the design decisions we make.

Considering our hosts for the discussion are world-class household appliance manufacturer, JennAir, and one of Tampa’s best independent dealers, Famous Tate, we did take time to explore the pros and cons of current appliance trends. Again, we don’t recommend a new line if the finish, function, dimensions simply don’t make sense to the space and how the clients live in their homes. However, we are seeing an explosion of unique range hoods. These are taking on an aesthetic all of their own and can make or break the entire kitchen design.

Our goal – and, frankly, what sets us apart – is our one-of-a kind-designs. It’s not our home, it is yours. Clients lean on IDC/Interior Design Consultancy for our expertise, knowledge, credentials, and value the design consultancy we provide.

So sit back, pour a cup of coffee, relax and listen to some of our shared thoughts! Think of this as our conversation-starter for your kitchen remodel.
