Design in Details

What matters most to the homeowner is what matters most to our designs. And for this family, it was all about the lighting. The owners leaned towards a clean, minimalistic, almost contemporary backdrop, something that would showcase their art and the beauty of the outdoors.

This project began with a late 80s suburban-style home with good bones. And a fabulous location in a north Tampa community to boot, the residence sits on an estate-size lot with lush landscaping, plus water and conservation views that beckoned for outdoor living. Why give up a perfectly good homesite? While the floorplan and design were dated and no longer functioned for the client’s needs, they realized the remodel could be everything they wanted, needed and more.

Aiming to embrace the Owners love of art and showcase their extensive collection, we designed a modern home that emulated a museum for an art collection. To suit their lifestyle, we concentrated on the flow and spatial layout, fully addressing how the space itself should function as they experience daily life in the home.

For this family, a stark modern environment would not completely be reflective of their style. We achieved balance through well-defined spaces and carefully chosen interior materials, finishes, hues, textures, and lighting. Ultimately achieving an ideal space for living, entertaining, resting, and most of all, admiring a well-earned art collection.
